Working with the area Middle School Debate League, students engage on a variety of debate topics. My debate club works with the following learning lessons and standards: 1) Developing Reading Comprehension, 2) Increasing Research Competence, 3) Structuring Argument Literacy, 4) Synthesizing and Evaluating Evidence, 5) Structuring a Summary and Outline of a Debate, 6) Building Public Speaking Skills, and 7) Managing the Floor of the Debate.
